When lost isn’t found and
All around
The birds and beasts crowd
—and press
and cause duress—
Life’s pain is near, inexplicably;
A mate is lost (or, never in
first-place is found)
Sadly,
Cruelly,
Indubitably.
All colors on the foreground
Show
How blank the background
Is
(and always shall be)
when you’re lost in a crowd
(whether hominid or Fowl)
and seek your meaning
Individually.
