In this sister work to Smyrnica, the artist depicts the inscrutable apparitions that appear in his dreams about nearby Sam Ridley Boulevard, once a mere side road off of I-24 southeast of Nashville, now the terrifying locus of chain restaurants and rubber-stamped reproductions of commercial America. While housing values in the area shall undoubtedly increase as residents engorge themselves on the readily-available GMO-laden foods at the rapidly-increasing local eateries, the artist pines for a time when the avenue was a simple connecting road to Lowry Street through the woodland-covered limestone of middle Tennessee.
