Ekphrasis

Embrace now the brown and cast off the gray:

Let sharks eat the chum of our workaday quarrels,
Let ambergris float where sperm whales once ate squid,
Let melting pots boil our mosaic to puddles
Of rich muddy silt that resolves to new growth.

Brown is to color what gray is to contrast,
A world between chromas that otherwise clash:
Where opposites conflict, a hue mediator
That dissolves stereopsis and removes every mote.
