The specter of loss casts a pall over this otherwise joyous-yet-quizzical badminton match between two hippos. Is it a battle to the death, in which a GMO chicken must surrender his life for the inherent good of intramural athletics of questionable value? Or does it bespeak a lack of understanding of game equipment within groups of semi-aquatic mammals, of which humans arguably might be a member? A work designed to elicit both humor and dread, this painting would enliven the entranceway to any of the new gyms that cater exclusively to the morbidly obese, an inevitable (and profitable) outcome of the ConAgra diet, now hopelessly unavoidable in McAmerica.
