In this depiction of the popular Christian prognostication, Saint Gabriel blows his horn to announce the return of Christ while riding through the air in porcine comfort. The curious, anal-like bell of his instrument seems to spew forth a butterfly, symbol of the resurrection, amid multi-colored shrapnel from the apocalyptic battles ensuing on the unseen ground below. Appropriate for a church vestry or perhaps befitting a Las Vegas brothel, this festival of color and formal precision is sure to give viewers pause to consider end-of-days eschatology.
